5 Tips For A Magazine Worthy Kitchen When Remodeling.

When remodeling your kitchen, you will need to make dozens, if not hundreds of decisions. And although the process can be overwhelming, there are a few tricks of the trade that will ensure your new kitchen looks magazine worthy. Here are the 5 things you should include in your kitchen remodel:

1. Counter-Depth Refrigerator

Don’t underestimate how much room refrigerators take up. Not only in actual area, but in your field of vision. A standard refrigerator is generally 30″ deep, while your cabinets are only 24″ deep. That leaves you looking at the black plastic sides of your refrigerator as opposed to the sleek finish you deliberately spent time and more money on.

2. Install Tall Cabinets and Crown Molding

There is nothing that looks more elevated and expensive than having your cabinets go all the way to the ceiling. For most of us, the top portion of the cabinets will be completely useless and unreachable, but if we are talking about purely aesthetics, it is well worth it. Always use 42″ tall uppers and crown molding when you have the space.

3. Cabinet Upgrades For Trash and Storage

A truly upscale kitchen has so many hidden gems. It has evolved into its final form after a thorough exercise in function. Real luxury results in ease of use. Think about adding as many cabinets for special uses:

  • concealed garbage and recycling
  • cookie sheet cabinets
  • full pull out hardware for corner cabinets
  • spice pull out cabinets
  • power integrated cabinets

4. Waterfall countertops

This one is also mostly purely for aesthetics, but it does also facilitate keeping the side of your island clean. If your budget allows, installing waterfall countertops are always a sure-fire way to elevate the design of your kitchen. It allows you to experience your island as an element; more similar to a piece of furniture in the middle of your space as opposed to simple as more cabinets.

5. Fillers

You cannot install cabinets directly against a side wall or a perpendicular cabinet because the doors and drawers will not fully open. So fillers are used to infill any gaps between cabinets and walls or appliances. They allow for a fully uniform look.
