For most of us, the top portion of the cabinets will be completely useless and unreachable, but if we are talking about purely aesthetics, it is well worth it. Always use 42″ tall uppers and crown molding when you have the space.

A truly upscale kitchen has so many hidden gems. It has evolved into its final form after a thorough exercise in function. Real luxury results in ease of use. Think about adding as many cabinets for special uses:

4. Waterfall countertops
This one is also mostly purely for aesthetics, but it does also facilitate keeping the side of your island clean. If your budget allows, installing waterfall countertops are always a sure-fire way to elevate the design of your kitchen. It allows you to experience your island as an element; more similar to a piece of furniture in the middle of your space as opposed to simple as more cabinets.
5. Fillers
You cannot install cabinets directly against a side wall or a perpendicular cabinet because the doors and drawers will not fully open. So fillers are used to infill any gaps between cabinets and walls or appliances. They allow for a fully uniform look.
